10 Most Expensive Military Machines in the world

10 . Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II

The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a family of single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole fighters. The fifth-generation combat aircraft is designed to perform ground attack and air superiority missions. It has three main models: the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) variant, the F-35B short take-off and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant, and the F-35C carrier-based Catapult Assisted Take-Off But Arrested Recovery (CATOBAR) variant

9. DDG51  class destroyer

The Arleigh Burke-class of guided missile destroyers (DDGs) is the United States Navy’s first class of destroyers built around the Aegis Combat System and the SPY-1D multifunction passive electronically scanned array radar. The class is named for Admiral Arleigh Burke, an American destroyer officer in World War II, and later Chief of Naval Operations. The class leader, USS Arleigh Burke, was commissioned during Admiral Burke’s lifetime.

8. Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey

The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey is an American multi-mission, tiltrotor military aircraft with both vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities. It is designed to combine the functionality of a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft.

7.Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit

The Northrop (later Northrop Grumman) B-2 Spirit, also known as the Stealth Bomber, is an American heavy penetration strategic bomber, featuring low observable stealth technology designed for penetrating dense anti-aircraft defenses; it is a flying wing design with a crew of two

6. The exoskeleton

A powered exoskeleton is a wearable mobile machine that is powered by a system of electric motors, pneumatics, levers, hydraulics, or a combination of technologies that allow for limb movement with increased strength and endurance.

5. Trident II Missiles

We briefly mentioned how the Virginia Class subs and the DDG 51 Destroyers had the capabilities of launching cruise missiles! You could have probably guessed for yourself but those cruise missiles are pretty pricey! You don’t even want to know how much each missile costs! Luckily, the American and the British Navy are splitting some of the research costs. The reason they’re so expensive, is basically because they are pinpoint accurate from using GPS, can be launched from underwater, can carry warheads, and have a range of 4500 miles. Not only that, but they can travel at speeds of 18000 miles per hours! Each one costs 37 million dollars each, but there’s some videos out there of Destroyers launch cruise missiles like a semi automatic machine gun! If you combine the spending from both the UK and US on this missile, it adds up to about 53 Billion

4. MIne Resistant Ambush Protected

Imagine, finally being able to drive a vehicle without having to worry about landmines or IED’s! Our boys in Iraq would be very grateful! Many Humvees were obliterated during the Iraq wars from IED’s and now it appears that the military has a solution. Not only is it bulletproof, but the roadside bombs will no longer prove to be an issue! Also known as the MRAP, these vehicles are designed in South Africa. The US eventually spent $50 Billion dollars on the project to to make these mine proof as an emergency type effort in 2007. They quickly ordered a mass production of 10,000 MRAP’s in 2007. You break it down, they cost ast least $500,000 each! Here in this photo we see the decked out version of the FBI’s version. Doesn’t look like you wanna mess with this thing. There’s believed to be about 800 of these used by Law Enforcement groups as well.

3.Virginia Class Submarines

This class of submarine is really in a class of it’s own. It is expected to remain in service for at least the next 43 years. Each one is crafted carefully which requires an estimated 9 million labor hours for construction of a single Virgina Class Submarine. These are supposed to be America’s most advanced series of submarines to this date and they plan to build another 35 of these. You can imagine these would be expensive to construct, considering there’s a nuclear reactor on board! There’s also several new features that have never been seen before on US submarines classes. This includes new sonar systems, accurate cruise missile firing systems, pump-jet propulsor and improved gear for to save the crew in case it sinks. Many have called it the Ferrari of submarines and only the best trained submariners will have the chance to ride in it. Cost per submarine.. $ 2.5 Billion

2. Raptor F22

The most expensive and technologically advanced jet fighter on the market, the raptor is America’s Top Gun. These supersonic jets can be seen at airshows, completely stupefying large crowds of spectators. It’s primary role is to shoot down enemy aircraft before they even see the raptor in the skies. But with a barrage of different weapons it can accommodate ground attacks, electronic warfare, precision weapons engagement, and good degree of stealth. Each unit costs taxpayers 150 Million dollars but with air superiority in mind, the US is planning on building around 528 of these for a total cost of 79 Billion! Making it a huge program. There have been a few crashes already but the pilots were able to make it out of the craft ok with no injuries

1. CVN-78 Class Aircraft Carrier

The Gerald Ford is the first ship of the new class of Aircraft Carriers, this floating airport is a big upgrade from the Nimitz class. With all these expensive and fancy aircraft the US is coming up with, they’ll need an advanced way to transport them! Individually, the CVN-78 Class Aircraft Carrier is the most expensive military item to exist in the world! That doesn’t include the expensive aircraft on them either or the research it took to make this. In the long run it should save some money from lowering the number of crew members but increasing the number of automated systems. This thing even has laser beams! The living conditions were improved by increased air conditioning. It also uses an electromagnetic launch system which will also increase life expectancy on multi million dollar planes. The newly designed nuclear reactors will produce 3 times as much power as the Nimitz Class. The upgrades are quite impressive especially with the new radar system and it will be able to generate 30% more flights per day. The total cost: $13 Billion dollars each is how much it will cost for parts and labor and 4.7 Billion dollars was how much it cost goes to research and development.
