Mil Mi-26T helicopter caught fire during refueling

 

On July 2014 Mil Mi-26T of Ministry of Emergency Situations caught fire during refueling.

It burnt out completely. Its registration number is RF-31351

One technician received minor injuries. Although the helicopter and fuel truck were toast, fortunately, no lives were lost.

The refueling accident occurred at Khabarovsk Tsentralniy Airport in Russia.

To extinguish fire  77 people were involved personnel from MOE but they were unsuccessful

The Mil MI-26T helicopter was owned by Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, EMERCOM

Mi-26 is the world’s largest serial transport helicopter. Available since 1980. Produced 316 units.
