Four dead in Sikorsky UH-60L Black Hawk crash in Argelia, Cauca – Colombia. The helicopter crashed under unknown circumstances. It was flying in support of anti-narcotics activities.
A black hawk helicopter from the Army Aviation fell to the ground while carrying out an operation against drug trafficking in the rural area of Algeria, Cauca.
The aircraft, in which four crew members were traveling, lost contact after leaving a group of soldiers assigned to the Army Anti-Narcotics Brigade in the area.

It is still unknown if the helicopter would have fallen to the ground as a result of mechanical failure. In the aircraft, with license plate EJC 2166, four crewmen were traveling: Major Pedro Ignacio Granados, Captain Edson Quintero, Second Sergeant Ramiro Santos, and First Corporal Eduardo Ruiz. The entire crew was found dead.
- Major Pedro Ignacio Granados Salcedo was a native of Nobsa, Boyacá, he was 36 years old, 18 of them at the service of the Institution. He obtained 5 decorations, 90 congratulations and made 5 commissions abroad. He was married and father of two children.
- Captain Edson David Quintero Sánchez was a native of El Carmen de Atrato, Chocó, he was 30 years old, 13 of them at the service of the Institution. During his career, he obtained 3 decorations and recorded 52 congratulations on his resume.
- The second sergeant Ramiro Santos Carvajal was originally from Sabana de Torres, Santander, he was 37 years old, 18 of them at the service of the Institution, during which he received 3 decorations and 74 congratulations for his outstanding work as a crew member. He was married and father of three children.
- The first corporal Eduardo Ruiz Gutiérrez was a native of Florencia, Caquetá, he was 33 years old, 14 of them at the service of the Institution. He managed to get 3 decorations and 31 congratulations during his military career.
