PAF scrambled Fighter Jets & repels Indian aircraft after LoC breach, No casualties or damage Reported: DG ISPR Pakistan

Indian Air Force aircrafts violated Line of Control (LoC). “Intruded” were forced to return owing to the timely response of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in his tweet.

He said Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzafarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage.

Pictures released by the Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor show a burnt out steep mountain side with no sign of any damage to any property, apart from a few burnt out pine trees.

A few shards of metal were scattered around in the charred grass.

General Ghafoor said Indian aircrafts’ intrusion across LOC in Muzafarabad Sector was within 3-4 miles in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He said owing to the swift response by the Pakistan Air Force, the Indian aircraft were forced to a hasty withdrawal, and dropping their payload, which fell in an open area.

“No infrastructure got hit, no casualties. Technical details and other important information to follow,” the military spokesman said in a tweet.

The military spokesman earlier in a tweet at 4:42 am said “Indian Air Force violated the Line of Control. Pakistan Air Force immediately scrambled. Indian aircraft gone back. Details to follow.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has called a high-level emergency meeting at the office of foreign ministry for consultation with former foreign secretaries and senior diplomats on the escalating tensions with India.

In his exclusive talk to Dunya News, he asserted that India has been pushing the entire region towards instability just for the sake of elections.

He informed that he has spoken with the foreign ministers of various countries to apprise them about the current situation.

Tensions between Pakistan and India have been escalated since a suicide attack in occupied Kashmir killed 44 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers.

The attack saw explosives packed inside a van rip through buses in a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying some 2,500 members of the paramilitary CRPF.
