Two JASDF F-35A Lightning II Fighter Make an Emergency Landing at Aomori Airport

On the afternoon of the 24th, two Japan Air Self-Defense Force Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II fighters deployed at the Air Self-Defense Force Misawa Air Base made an emergency landing at Aomori Airport.

One of two F-35A of Japan Air Self-Defense Force on a training flight over the Sea of Japan received a warning on the engine system.

The fighter declared an emergency, and diverted to Aomori Airport (AOJ/RJSA) accompanied by the other one.

There was no fire, and no injuries were reported.

A commercial flight to New Chitose Airport suffered 12 minutes of delay.
