Tom Cruise Runs In Flight Suit through the snow in Lake Tahoe for intense Top Gun 2 scene. The 56-year-old actor was spotted filming for the highly anticipated Top Gun sequel Top Gun: Maverick in Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Tom was spotted in full flight gear including a striped helmet for the scene in which he falls, appearing slightly unsteady in the snow and takes off running towards the woods.
Tom cruise was also seen filming with the crew on top of the mountains south of Lake Tahoe. Observers said that there had been a lot of military aircraft on the set, while some of the action sequences Cruise was working on looked more intense than the scenes previously shot in San Diego and Nevada.
At one point, drone cameras following the production spotted the famous Hollywood star running in the forest in his flight suit as Maverick the fighter pilot.
And on Friday the 56-year-old actor was also seen shooting with his co-star Miles Teller, 31. Both were in their flight gear as they walked side-by-side on set. And at 6ft tall, Miles towered over the 5ft7in acting legend.
Teller plays pilot trainee Bradley Bradshaw, son of Maverick’s late partner Nick ‘Goose’ Bradshaw, played in the original by ER’s Anthony Edwards.
Some 32 years after the 1986 blockbuster, Tom is reprising his role as Lt. Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell.
But now he’s a captain and a flight instructor, rather than a fighter pilot.

Tom already shot scenes in San Diego and Nevada, but production in Tahoe sounds way more intense — with cameras suspended between trees to capture Tom booking it through the woods, and lots of military aircraft are landing at Lake Tahoe Airport for the shoot.
‘He won’t film all the flight sequences — it’s too dangerous — but he will fly some, making him the first actor in cinema history to do so. The producers would prefer not to put their leading man, not to mention their whole film, at risk.’

Top Gun: Maverick is set to hit theatres on June 26, 2020. It was originally slated for release on July 12, 2019 but it was delayed so filmmakers can work out logistics with the complex flight scenes, Deadline reported.
Jennifer Connelly, 47, has been on set with Tom, and will play Maverick’s love interest, replacing Kelly McGillis who played Charlie in the original.
Val Kilmer, who played Lt. Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky in the original, will also reprise his role in the sequel while Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Jon Hamm and Ed Harris are joining the cast for the second instalment.
