Thirty-two OH-58D Kiowa Warriors with the 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade flew one last flight over Fort Bragg and Fayetteville North Carolina, setting a Guinness world record for the largest formation of aircraft. 21 Apr. 2016

The largest helicopter formation flight consists of 32 helicopters and was achieved in an event organized by 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade of the US Army (USA) in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the USA on 15 April 2016.

 

This was the final flight of the OH-58D (R) Kiowa Warrior Helicopter fleet within the US military – the helicopters are being retired from the US Army inventory.

The purpose of this record-setting helicopter formation flight was to pay homage to all the men and women who have served in a Kiowa Warrior organization.
