Cirrus SR22 airplane crash near a neighborhood west of Parker in Douglas County, One Killed
A Cirrus SR22 airplane crash killed one person when it went down near a neighborhood west of Parker in Douglas County.
South Metro Fire Rescue said the plane went down behind 11083 Pastel Point in the Stepping Stone Subdivision. This is west of the town of Parker.
An engine from the plane was embedded in the back of a house. A woman and her two children were inside the home but were not hurt. South Metro Fire said no residents in the neighborhood were injured.
The plane took off from Centennial Airport a little after 8 p.m. Friday night. It disappeared from radar at 8:23 p.m., according to South Metro Fire Rescue.
Lone Tree police issued a statement about the crash Friday night: “Tonight at approximately 9 p.m., the Lone Tree Police Department responded to a single-engine aircraft crash near RidgeGate Parkway and Chambers Street. One fatality has been confirmed. LTPD, along with South Metro Fire Rescue, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Parker Police Department, Centennial Airport and National Transportation Safety Board, continue to search the area for debris. No residents in the area were injured.”
