Czech Air Force Aero L-159 Trainer Loses Canopy During Flight

During a training flight, the plane lost its canopy for unknown reasons. Pilots descended to the lower altitude and safety landed on home AFB Čáslav.

Incident is during investigation by the army and Aero Vodochody company. Army is also looking for canopy.

Actualy there are no information about injuries or damages on ground.

Operation of L-159 aircraft was temporarily suspended.

The military has no information that anyone was injured in the accident, and is now searching for the wreckage.

The cause of the incident is being investigated by a commission of the Air Force Commander and the Department of Military Aviation Oversight of the Ministry of Defense.

The Aero L-159 ALCA is a subsonic light combat aircraft and advanced trainer developed in the single-seat L-159A and two-seat L-159B versions respectively, produced in the Czech Republic by Aero Vodochody.
