Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-15J Eagle made an emergency landing at Kadena Airbase

An F-15J of Japan Air Self-Defense Force, based at Naha (OKA/ROAH), made an emergency landing at Kadena Airbase (DNA/RODN) due to a trouble on a door of the main landing gear.

There were no personal injuries.  The Eagle was on a training flight when the problem happened. 

On the morning of 29th, a malfunction of the door storing the wheel was found in the F-15 fighter plane of the Self-Defense Force that was flying in training, and the fighter plane made an emergency landing at the Kadena base in the US Army.

Before 10:00 am on the 29th, an F-15 fighter belonging to the Air Self-Defense Forces Naha base made an emergency landing at the Kadena base in the US Army.

According to the Air Self-Defense Force, this fighter was training after taking off from Naha Airport before 8:30 am, but it was confirmed that there was a problem that the door for storing the wheels did not close properly during the emergency landing. It means that.

One fighter is on the fighter and there is no injury.

Regarding the reason for the emergency landing at the US military base, the Air Self-Defense Force explained that “we thought about the impact on civilian aircraft and avoided the emergency landing at Naha Airport”.

The Air Self-Defense Force has stopped training and is investigating the cause of the failure.
