U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet made an emergency landing at MCAS Iwakuni
An FA-18 made an emergency landing at MCAS Iwakuni under unknown circumstances, causing the runway close until 15:10 LT.
An All Nippon Airways’ flight from Tokyo/Haneda (HND/RJTT) to Iwakuni diverted to Hiroshima (HIJ/RJOA) due to runway close.
According to initial reports no one was injured in the incident

The runway of Iwakuni Kinbashi Airport in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture was closed around 2 pm on 18th
According to the Iwakuni airport office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport , the US military aircraft landed emergency and closed the runway at 1:40 pm. It was said at 3:10 that the closure was canceled.
The airport was shared by civilians, and there was no commercial aircraft on the runway at emergency landing . Due to the closure, the ANA flight arriving from Iwakuni from Haneda changed the destination to Hiroshima Airport .
