Four Dead in a Sikorsky S-70A Black Hawk helicopter crash in Istanbul
Four Turkish soldiers were killed in the crash of a military helicopter in Istanbul, according to Turkish media. Another was injured. The crash took place in a residential area. No civilians were injured.
Anadolu Agency said the helicopter, which was on a training mission, on Monday hit the roof of a building and crashed in between apartment blocks in Istanbul’s Sancaktepe neighborhood, on the Asian side of the city that straddles two continents.
No one else was hurt in the incident. The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.

Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya said in a statement, “Samandıra’da training helicopters that fly in flight for unknown reasons. 4 martyrs, 1 wounded.” “The investigation has been started due to the incident. Work at the scene is continuing,” he said.

According to the Hurriyet newspaper, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has already visited the crash site. The cause of the crash remains for the moment to be determined.
According to the Anadolu agency, the helicopter, which was on a training mission, inadvertently grazed the roof of one of the buildings.
