UFO sightings: Listen As Multiple Airline Pilots Report Very High-Speed Unidentified Objects Over Ireland
The Irish Aviation Authority is investigating a new mysterious aviation incident that recently occurred over the country. The details are similar in some respects to reported sightings of unidentified flying objects over Oregon, Arizona, and New York, incidents that The War Zone was the first to report on.
A British Airways pilot contacted Shannon air traffic control on November 5, asking if there were military exercises being carried out in the area as there was something “moving so fast” but she was told there were none, according to a record of the conversation published on Airlive, a website for plane enthusiasts.
In the pre-dawn hours on Nov. 9, 2018, about 45 minutes before sunrise, at least three different airliners flying over or off the coast of southwestern Ireland reported seeing multiple unidentified objects flying near them at incredible speed. Authorities in Ireland confirmed they were looking into the situation on Nov. 12, 2018, but offered no additional information.
“Following reports from a small number of aircraft on Friday, November 9, of unusual air activity, the IAA has filed a report,” the country’s aviation authorities explained. “This report will be investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process.”
Publicly available audio of conversations between the passenger planes and Shannon Flight Information Region air traffic controllers offer more detail about what happened. At 6:47 AM local time, a British Airways 787, using the callsign Speedbird 94, radioed in to ask if there were any military exercises going on in the area, which there were not.
At around 7:40 UTC, the pilot of a British Airways flight #BA94 from Montreal contacted Shannon Air Traffic Control (ATC) to ask if there were military exercises taking place in the airspace through which her Boeing 787 was passing.
Shannon ATC replied: “There is nothing showing on either primary or secondary [radar].”
The pilot responded: “OK. It was moving so fast.”
The controller then asked: “Alongside you?”
The BA pilot, flying from Montreal to Heathrow, describes how the UFO came up along the left-hand side of the aircraft, “then rapidly veered to the north”.
She said it was “a very bright light” that “disappeared at very high speed”.
She said they were “wondering” what it could be, that it did not seem to be on a collision course.
A second pilot, flying a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747 and using the callsign Virgin 76, then joined the radio conversation to say that they too had seen more than one bright light or even “multiple objects following the same sort of trajectory.” He repeated the details about the objects being very bright and moving at extremely high speeds, likening their appearance to an object re-entering the earth’s atmosphere from space.
A Virgin Airlines pilot of #VS76 from Orlando to Manchester reported seeing the same thing.
He described it as a “meteor or another object making some kind of re-entry.”
He said it appears to be “multiple objects following the same sort of trajectory – very bright from where we were.”
Another pilot also reported a sighting.
The planes were flying in high-level airspace – which extends upwards from 28,500ft to 42,000ft.
The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) said it had filed a report on the sightings which will be “investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process.”
