Video of Russian Tu-95 bomber bursts into flames on the runway during take off

A minute-long footage shows the Tu-95MS crashing during takeoff at Ukrainka airbase in Russia’s the Far East.

Two of the five-man crew were killed in the explosion, while the Russian Ministry of Defence suspended all Tu-95 flights following the crash.

It is thought that the drama was caused by an engine fire as the Tu-95 “Bear” plane took off in Russia’s Far East, causing it to overshoot the runway.

“The accident occurred during a practice flight at the Ukrainka airfield in the Amur region at 17:00 Moscow time.

60-year old Russian four-engine turboprop-powered strategic bomber and missile platform skidded off the runway and exploded after the left wing caught fire during the take-off run at Ukrainka airfield.

In the video of the incident, you can see the aircraft’s left wing caught fire during the takeoff roll, causing the aircraft to steer off the runway and explode.
