Number 20 Squadron of the Royal Air Force

No. 20 (R) Squadron of the Royal Air Force was from September 1992 until March 2010

It is a  reserve squadron, it could be called upon for combat duties if necessary

The 20th Squadron was rearmed on Jaguar with Harrier fighters, new vehicles began arriving in Bruges in January 1977.

Simultaneously, the squadron continued to fly to Harrier from the Wildenrath air base.

Re-equipment for a new type of aircraft and relocation to a new airbase were completed by March 1, the squadron was given strike missions.

June 24, 1984, the operation of Jaguar in this unit was discontinued, and the next day the 20th Squadron of Tornado GR.Mk 1 aircraft appeared

(the squadron was the only one in the British Air Force flying on three types of main combat aircraft)

As a result of 2010 defence cuts, 20 Squadron disbanded on 31 March 2010, with its tasks taken over by the retitled 4 (Reserve) Squadron
