A passenger plane crashed at takeoff Corlier altiport this Tuesday at 3:50 pm. The two people aboard the aircraft were declared dead just over an hour after the accident.
Both men were regulars and had already made three takeoffs and as many landings before the tragedy. After a break with the president of the altiport, they left for two maneuvers, the first was fatal.
One of the men was 72 years old and lived in Charnay-lès-Mâcon. He was a member of the Aeroclub of Mâcon. The other, an 84-year-old confirmed instructor, lived in Chissey-lès-Mâcon.

The aircraft, a Robin DR400, had taken off from Mâcon and made a stop at Corlier when the accident occurred in still undetermined circumstances.
The investigation was entrusted to the Brigade of Gendarmerie Air Transport (BGTA) Lyon Saint-Exupéry.
The Corlier airstrip was opened in July 1998. This altiport hosted two international mountain pilot gatherings in 1999 and 2008 and a hangar was built in 2010.
