Mazamari/Manue Prado Airport – Base Contraterrorista Micaela Bastidas (SPMF), after a reconnaissance flight. All seven occupants, 4 crew and 3 passengers, were injured.

The Peruvian Army confirmed that the helicopter with registration EP 344 crashed when it was returning from a reconnaissance flight in that area.

“The crew and passengers have been immediately transferred to the Mazamari medical center for evaluation and subsequent evacuation to the city of Lima for the corresponding examinations,” the letter indicates.

It also points out that the causes of the accident are still unknown, but investigations into the event will be carried out.

“The causes of the accident will be evaluated by the Army Aviation Accident Investigation Board, in order to determine the circumstances of the accident,” the statement said.
