A Ukraine Air Force Antonov An-26 transport plane is reported to have crashed. A photo is circulating on social media that purportedly shows the burnt wreckage of an An-26 in a field.

Air Force Antonov An-26 has been shot down and destroyed on a field in the Kyiv Region.

The aircraft was carrying 14 people on board and at least 5 have confirmed to be fatally injured in the incident

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the aircraft was shot down by Russian forces.

Russia has begun a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine today and demanded Kyiv’s army lay down its weapons, starting what could be the largest conflict in Europe since the second world war.

Russian forces are trying to penetrate into Ukraine’s Kyiv region and its Zhytomyr region on the Belarusian border.

According to Russian official sources, Russia has neutralized Ukraine’s Air Defences in less than 3 hours following the commencement of Russian airstrikes in the morning of February 24.

According to Ukraine’s Command of Joint Forces, At least five Russian aircraft and one helicopter were shot down by Ukraine.

There are unconfirmed reports of two Su-25 fighter jets, one Kamov Ka-52 and one Kamov Ka-50 helicopter shot down according to the aviation-safety database.
