Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet makes emergency landing at Melitopol Air Base. This was reported by the command of the Air Force of Ukraine on its page on Facebook Saturday, April 11th.
On the evening of April 10, a MiG-29 fighter made an emergency landing at one of the operational airfields of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The pilot did not receive any damage beforehand. The causes of the incident are determined by a specially appointed commission.
In turn, the Telegram channel Rankova Zorya reports that the emergency landing occurred in Melitopol. The channel also released photos of the injured MiG-29. The pictures show that the aircraft is located in the hull on the runway. Also, one of the published photos shows damage to the wing of the aircraft.
According to Ukrainian military portal, MiG-29 with tail number 47 is part of the 204th Sevastopol Tactical Aviation Brigade, which is based in the city of Lutsk.
The plane was built in March 1990 and since March 1992 it has been part of the Air Force of the Armed Forces. Previously, it had number 36 yellow and until 2001 was part of the 168 flight test complex in Kirovsky in the Crimea. After the disbandment was in storage.
In 2014, he was removed from the occupied peninsula and in 2016 underwent repairs at the Lviv Aviation Plant, where he received a new board number 47 blue and was transferred to the 204th BrTA.
In March, it was reported that the Air Force of Ukraine received a thoroughly repaired and modernized fighter MiG-29. The overhaul life of the modernized aircraft is eight years with the possibility of its extension to 12 years.
