At Least Two Russian Tu-95 & One Tu-22M3 Destroyed In Ukrainian Drones Attacks

Two Tupolev Tu-95 bomber planes of the Russian AF are said to have been destroyed in a drone attack at a military airfield in Saratov region, Russia.

One Russian Air Force Tupolev Tu-22M3 s/n RF-34110, code 02 red, strategic bomber was damaged during Ukrainian attack on Dyagilevo Air Base, Ryazan Oblast, Russia. Three ground crew members were killed and five wounded. Most likely a Tupolev Tu-141 Strizh reconnaissance UAV packed with explosives was used to carry out the attack.

Engels-2 airbase Attack

Engels-2 airbase, located in Saratov Oblast, some 400 km southeast of Moscow and roughly 700 km from the border with Ukraine, came under attack early in the morning on Dec. 5, 2022.

Images recorded by CCTV cameras and shared on Telegram show a huge explosion occurring at 06:04 AM LT. Early reports say three people were killed, six were wounded, and two Tu-95 strategic bombers were damaged as a result of the air strike.


Dyagilevo airbase Attack

Satellite imagery published today by ImageSat International shows a damaged Tu-22M3 Backfire bomber at the Dyagilevo airbase. The bombers have been used to blast targets in Ukraine to cripple the electrical grid. The attack occurred near Ryazan, a city less than 150 miles from Moscow.

Images on social media in the past hours show one seriously damaged Tu-22M3 and pools of blood near him. In addition to the bomber, a support truck was also damaged, and it is worth noting that the photo shows a Kh-22 missile suspended on a bomber.

Russia said that three of its military personnel were killed in what it said were Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian airbases. Two aircraft were lightly damaged, the defense ministry said in a statement. Four other people had been wounded, it said.
