JF-17 Thunder First air-to-air kill. On 18 June 2017, An unmanned Iranian drone allegedly on a spying mission was shot down by a PAF JF-17 Thunder fighter jet in Balochistan Panjgur area 45km inside Pak territory.
Iranian S-129 UAV was operating deep inside Pakistani airspace. Air Defence units of the Pakistan air force spotted Iranian drone and issued an Air Defence alert.
JF-17 Thunder of No. 2 Sqn allocated at PAF Base Masroor responded to Air Defence alert and shoot down UAV at 3 am in Parom area of Panjgur district
The wreckage of the Iranian S-129 UAV was later recovered by local security forces. PAF later confirmed that JF-17 thunder has scored its First air to air kill.
