JF-17 Thunder First air-to-air kill
On 18 june 2017 An unmanned Iranian drone allegedly on a spying mission was shot down by a PAF JF-17 Thunder fighter jet in Balochistan Panjgur area 45km inside Pak territory .
Iranian S-129 UAV was operating deep inside Pakistani airspace .Air Defence units of pakistan air force spotted Iranian drone and issued an Air Defence alert .
JF-17 Thunder of No. 2 Sqn allocated at PAF Base Masroor responded to Air Defence alert and shoot down UAV at 3am in Parom area of Panjgur district
Wreckage of Iranian S-129 UAV was later recovered by local security forces .PAF later confirmed that JF-17 thunder have scored its First air to air kill .
The PAC JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight, single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft produced by pakistan air force
Till now PAF have produced 100+ units of JF-17 thunder (block 1 and 2 ) . Its is a symbol of Pakistan excellence in aviation industry . Myanmar and Nigeria have already placed order of purchase of JF-17 thunder
