The Algerian Air Force is the aerial arm of the Algerian People’s Military. During March 2006, Algeria ordered 28 Su-30MKAs, 16 Yak-130As, and 34 MiG-29SMTs from Russia.

While the current front-line fleet of Algerian Air Force primarily consists of Russian-origin aircraft such as the Sukhoi Su-30 and the MiG-29, Algeria has expressed an interest in acquiring aircraft from China.
