Ultralight plane crashes into field near Grande Prairie, Pilot Dead

 

A small plane has crashed in a field east of Grande Prairie.

Emergency services were called to an area off of Range Road 53 near Township Road 714 a little after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The Transportation Safety Board has confirmed the pilot in the crash was killed. RCMP say the 43-year-old man from Saskatchewan was flying a Basic Ultralight plane.

The Transportation Safety Board says they are sending two investigators from Edmonton to inspect the crash site east of Grande Prairie.

Emergency crews are on the scene of an apparent plane crash east of Grande Prairie.

RCMP, Fire, and EMS were called in at approximately 2:03 p.m.
