Bangladesh Air Force K-8W training aircraft crashed in Jessore, kills both pilots

A training aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force has crashed in Jashore, killing its two pilots at the scene.

The plane crashed at Bukbhora Baor of Chandutia village of the district around 9pm  after it took off from the BAF Base Matiur Rahman

The pilots have been identified as Squadron Leader  Md Serajul Islam and Squadron Leader Enayet Kabir Polash.

Jessore Airport Manager Alamgir Pathan told the Dhaka Tribune the aircraft had crashed into the Bookbhora oxbow lake in Sadar upazila’s Deyara union.

ISPR’s AD Rezaul said the Chinese-made K-8W had taken off from BAF Base Matiur Rahman on a night training mission.

The rescue work was delayed by rains but still Efforts to recover the bodies are underway

A  high-level Investigation committee has been formed to investigate the crash

Deyara Union Parishad Chairman Anisur Rahman said the plane had crashed into the lake, which is adjacent to Faridpur village.
