Russia forced to destroy destroys all S-400 missiles sent to China

Speaking at a press conference at the IDEX military exhibition, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, said that Russia had long ago signed a contract with China for the supply of anti-aircraft guided missiles for the S-400, RBC reports. “We should have already put everything. Unfortunately, an accident occurred. The ship that was carrying these missiles fell into a storm, and all these missiles were forced to be destroyed, ”he said.

According to Chemezov, now new missiles are being manufactured in Russia, which will be sent to China.

The regimental kit S-400 was sent to China by three ships, however, as reported in January 2018 in the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia, one ship got into a violent storm in the English Channel, its auxiliary equipment was damaged.

It is designed to engage, radar-picket, director area, reconnaissance, strategic and tactical aircraft, tactical and theatre ballistic missiles, medium-range ballistic missiles and other current and future air attack assets at a maximum range of 400 km, and a altitude of up to 30 km.
