Chilean Air Force Halcones aerobatics team Aircraft crashed into a residential area of El Bosque in Chile

A Game Composites GB1 GameBird of the Grupo Halcones aerobatics team crashed into a residential area of El Bosque in Chile. The pilot left the aircraft by parachute and survived.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, a plane from the High Acrobatics Squadron “Halcones” crashed into a housing complex in the El Bosque commune.

The collision of the aircraft occurred at the intersection of Avenida Padre Hurtado with Alejandro Guzmán, affecting four departments of a three-story building.

 

According to the captain of the South Metropolitan Fire Department, “all the people would have left” and “the damage on the first and second floor of the property would be 80% while the third level reaches 50% destruction level.

Despite the serious situation, there were no fatalities or injuries resulting from the accident. However, a fire brigade resulted in a cut in the face while his team was in maneuvers to lower the temperature of the fuselage of the ship and control the fire that was activated in the premises.

Through a statement, the FACH confirmed that the injured flight belonged to the “Halcones” High Acrobatics Squadron and that it corresponded to a training flight that took off from El Bosque Air Base.

The institution confirmed that the aircraft suffered a fault whose origin is being investigated and that momentarily, there is no presence of wounded and fatalities.

On the other hand, the FACH also confirmed that the pilot was unharmed and made use of his emergency parachute.

It should be noted that the El Bosque Air Base is located in the commune of El Bosque, in addition to different specialties schools of the FACH; institution that does not yet officially refer to the accident.

Carabineros de Chile, meanwhile, was present at the scene and claimed that the aircraft is an instructional plane of the FACH, model GD. 1.
