Three died and five injured in Benin Air Force Cargo Plane Crash

The military cargo plane of the Benin Air Force crashed under unknown circumstances. Three crew members died and five others were injured.

The plane took off from Parakou and was En route to Benin.

The aircraft type involved has not been reported. The Benin Air Force reportedly operates a DHC-6 Twin Otter and an HS-748.

The president of the Benin Republic Patrice Talon greeted the memory of these fallen soldiers while performing their duties:

“In my capacity as supreme commander of the Armies, I greet the memory of these brave soldiers fallen in the exercise of their functions in the service of our country. My effective thoughts to the Beninese Army and the bereaved homeland, “he said.

The cause of the crash is still unknown. An investigation is launched according to the source close to the army

The Benin Air Force was formed in 1958 when Benin gained independence from France as the Dahomey Air Force.

  1. It wasn’t a plane crash. But a military vehicle for troops that crashes, between Parakou and Savé (Center of Benin Republic).
