As we have reported earlier that Tom Cruise arrived on Top Gun: “Maverick” set in his own $4 Million Dollar WWII Fighter Aircraft.
Top Gun sequel dubbed Top Gun: “Maverick” filming is underway right now. In Top Gun actor Tom Cruise played the role of United States Naval Aviator LT Pete “Maverick” Mitchell flying the F-14A Tomcat aboard USS Enterprise (CVN-65). He also learned to fly an Airbus AS350 helicopter for some of the scenes in last summer’s Mission Impossible: Fallout.
A lot of Rumors are circulating regarding which Aircraft Tom Cruise will fly in the movie.
Paramount Pictures confirmed that the hotly anticipated sequel will feature Cruise performing some of his own stunts. Paramount revealed that Cruise will be piloting an aircraft that is far more exotic than anything currently in the Navy fleet.
In May, Cruise posted a photo to Instagram that indicated Pete “Maverick” Mitchell had upgraded from an F-14 Tomcat to an F/A-18E/F Super Hornet strike fighter in the intervening years since the Cold War. But on December 20, 2018, photo of actor Tom Cruise reveals that action Reunited With An F-14 Tomcat on Snowy Set in Tahoe In ‘Top Gun 2’
On November 12, 2018, Paramount also confirmed that Tom Cruise will fly “certain aircraft” but not F/A-18 fighter jets in Top Gun: Maverick
Since then, In real life, the millionaire Top Gun star Tom Cruise is reported to own anywhere from three to five private jets including a $20M Gulfstream
Tom Cruise has held a pilot’s license since 1994 and he often pilots all of the private jets that he owns. Although quite luxurious when flying privately, Cruise purchased a rugged World War II fighter namely, a P-51 Mustang.
Cruise has gone through extensive training for the film and will do some of his own flying “in certain aircraft.”
So what exactly are those “certain aircrafts”?
On July 18, 2019, Paramount Pictures Released First Official Trailer of Top Gun: Maverick. In trailer, “Maverick” was flying an F/A-18E/F loaded with what seems to be a pair of GBU-24 LGBs (Laser Guided Bombs) and AIM-9X AAMs (Air-to-Air Missiles).
Moreover, the fact that an F-14 will appear in “Top Gun: Maverick” is not a secret.
However, the most interesting thing we noticed in “Top Gun: Maverick” was Tom Cruise Own $4 Million Dollar WWII P-51 Mustang Fighter Aircraft.
Apart from these three Aircraft photos has surfaced showing Cruise rocking what appears to be a stylized high-altitude pressure suit on the set of the sequel. And therein lie some potential clues.
“The interesting thing is that the flight suit appears to be a high-altitude pressure suit similar to the actual ones worn by high altitude reconnaissance pilots in aircraft like the U-2 and SR-71,”
“Notice the wide, round neck ring for a pressure suit helmet and the two fittings to the suit for life support and pressurization.”
Does this mean that we’ll see Maverick in the cockpit of an SR-71 or it’s secretive SR-72 “Son Of Blackbird” successor? Perhaps.
Top Gun: “Maverick” will hit theater next year but till now still it’s not confirmed which aircraft will feature in the movie and which Aircraft tom cruise will fly in the movie.
Top Gun sequel dubbed Top Gun: “Maverick” filming is underway right now. The upcoming film, slated for release on June 26, 2020, in the U.S., is likely entering the final stages of its production phase before going to post-production and editing.
Top Gun: Maverick will reportedly revolve around Tom Cruise’s Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell as he trains Bradley Bradshaw who is a pilot trainee, as well as the son of Maverick’s late partner Nick “Goose” Bradshaw (who was played by Anthony Edwards in the original 1986 film).
Bradshaw will be played by actor Miles Teller. Additionally, the new film will also feature Val Kilmer returning as Commander Thomas “Iceman” Kazansky, plus Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell and Ed Harris will all also be appearing.
