All occupants two pilots and four power lines workers died.

The mayor of Valparaíso, Jorge Martínez , confirmed that the accident occurred inside the Fundo Providencia.

Around 10.30 am on Monday, a helicopter capsized in the Providencia estate sector in Coliguay, Quilpué, killing six occupants, four workers and two pilots.

According to the preliminary information, the crew members would be workers who were being transferred to perform power line repair work when, for reasons under investigation, the helicopter fell.

Regarding this accident, Silva pointed out that “in the part that concerns us with the Regional Labor Directorate, the contracts, the documents of the company are already being reviewed at the aerodrome”.

COMPANY STATEMENT

“The accident helicopter belongs to the company Ecocopter, which provided air transport services for Edemsa, in the aforementioned project while carrying out personnel transports in the Providencia farm sector. Currently, our main concern is to make contact with the families of those affected and provide all the support and collaboration in such a difficult moment, “he says.

He adds that “equally, we are collaborating in what corresponds to us – together with Edemsa and Ecocopter – in everything necessary to collaborate with the investigation and identify the causes that caused the fatal accident”.
